Wilma Hash Thomas

Wilma Hash Thomas, age 91, of Asheboro died Friday, October 3, 2014 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. Mrs. Thomas was born October 3, 1923 the daughter of Hobson and Notra Graybeal Hash. Mrs. Thomas was a native of Grayson County, VA and retired from First National Bank as Branch Manager after 25 years of service. She was a very devoted member of West Bend United Methodist Church and loved her church family. Wilma was a caring, giving person who had a gentle soul and enjoyed cooking and baking to deliver to the homebound. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded by her granddaughter: Julie Catherine Glasgow, sisters: Carolyn H. Cannoy and Gerry H. Pitsenbarger, and brother: Walbert Gale Hash. She is survived by her husband: Joseph E. Thomas, son and his wife: J. Gale and Vicki L. Thomas of Asheboro, NC; daughter and her husband:, Susan and John Glasgow of Cary, NC; 4 grandchildren: Ashley T. (Robert) Memory of Pittsboro, NC, Brett L. (Christy) Thomas of Asheboro, Morgan Glasgow of Raleigh, NC, J. Tyler Glasgow of Raleigh; 3 great grandchildren: Bailey Thomas of Asheboro, Dashiel Memory of New York, NY, Tayler Robinson of Wilmington; two sisters: Maxine Anderson of Greenville, NC and Betty H. Sumner of Farmville, VA. The family will receive friends Monday, October 6, 2014 from 9:30 - 10:45 AM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, with Rev. David Noyes and Rev. Drew McIntyre officiating.
