Wilma Whittington Secrest, age 74, of Randleman died Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Wesley Long Community Hospital, Greensboro.
Mrs. Secrest was born April 22, 1941 in Pinehurst, NC the daughter of Oscar and Rosa Whittington. Wilma retired from Commonwealth Hosiery after 35 years of service. She was a God fearing woman who loved her church and family. Wilma was a member at New Salem Baptist Church and a pianist for New Salem and Whitehall Evangelical Church. In addition to her parents, Wilma is preceded in death by 6 brothers, 2 sisters and her great grandson Randall Cox, Jr.
She is survived by her husband: Charles Eugene Secrest of the home; daughters: Tina & Rusty Shipes of Randleman, and Karen & Benny Cox of Randleman; sons: Ricky & Brenda Cockman of Ramseur, and Jeff & Sherry Cockman of Randleman; step-daughter, Debbie & Mark Thomas of Mt. Airy, Janet & Johnny Atkins of Mt Airy; step-son, Dwayne & Robin Secrest of Sophia; honorary daughter: Dora Hill; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren;
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 22, 2015 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 23, 2015 at 2:00 pm at New Salem Baptist Church, with Rev. Phillip Tarlton, Rev. Frank Barrett and Rev. Boyd Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
