Willie Mosley Dildy, age 92 of 503 Dublin Rd., Asheboro died Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at his home.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 8, 2008 at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Holder and Rev. Susan Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Mr. Dildy was a native of Walstonburg, NC and retired owner and manager of Browns Auto Supply. He was a founding member of the Civitans, was awarded Civitan of the Year in 1979, received the 1990 Governor's Individual Volunteer Award for Randolph County and was past president of the Asheboro Colt League. He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he led Sunday School singing for over 45 years and was a past member of the Administrative Board. Mr. Dildy was preceded in death by his wives, Mary Page Dildy and Mae Bray Dildy, parents, W. A. & Betty Dildy, sisters, Sue Lyerly, Eva Wheeler, Virginia Aycock and Minnie Walston.
He is survived by sons, Mark A. Dildy and his wife Helen of Asheboro, NC, Rick Dildy of Raleigh, NC; daughters, Ava Thomas and her husband Merle of Charlotte, NC, Pam Sellers and her husband Loy of Asheboro, NC, Jane Hicks and her husband Charles of Pensacola, FL;sisters, Dot Carmody of Monte Rio, CA, Grace Roberson of Chesapeake, VA, grandchildren, Tammy Bagyi, Bryan Thomas and Ashley Dempsey all of Charlotte, NC, Andrew Thomas of Columbia, SC, Kim Keenan and Kevin Hicks both of Pensacola, FL, Melanie Nixon of Asheboro, NC; 14 great grandchildren; special friend, Frances Taylor of Asheboro, NC.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 7, 2008 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
