William Mahlon Wicker

William Mahlon Wicker, age 88, of Randleman died Monday, June 29, 2015 at his home. Mr. Wicker was born August 6, 1926 in Randolph County to Mahlon and Flossie Wicker. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, attended Solid Rock Baptist Church and was retired from Acme-McCrary. Mr. Wicker loved farming and working in the lumber business. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wicker was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Marie O'Briant Wicker, daughter, Janice Wicker, sisters, Nancy Benbow Strider, Bessie Wicker and brothers, Francis, John, Newton, Lewis and Franklin Wicker. He is survived by his sons, Jerry Wicker and wife Melanie of Randleman, Doug Wicker and wife Carolyn of Seagrove; daughters, Tammy Crotts and husband Darin of Seagrove, Paula Cain and husband Randy of Randleman; grandchildren, Heather Abernethy and husband Daniel, Matthew Wicker and wife Rachel, Jordan Cain and wife Jessica, Jacob Joshua and Justin Cain, Megan and John Wicker, Rachel, Caroline, Anna and Will Crotts; great grandchildren, Hailey and Caleb Abernethy, Aiden and Mason Jones; sisters, Margaret Anderson of Randleman, Doris Cain of Randleman, Irene Hunt of Asheboro. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 7 to 9 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro and other times at the daughter's home at 2103 Wicker Lovell Rd., Randleman. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Perry Brown and Dr. Ron Chaney officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
