William Merle “Billy” Melcher, III, age 14, of Asheboro died Sunday, April 23, 2017 at home.
Billy attended Asheboro High School and was a member of JROTC. He was a young man who was full of life who loved to make people laugh and smile. Billy spent his free time playing video games and riding dirt bikes, but his favorite times were trips with his family. Billy was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bryan Kent Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Angela Kent Melcher of Asheboro; father, William Merle Melcher II of Denton; sister, Avari Melcher of Asheboro; maternal grandmother, Teresa Cabanas of Asheboro, maternal grandmother, Deborah Kent of Springfield, IL; paternal grandparents, William and Kathy Melcher of Sodus, NY; paternal grandmother, Karen Baker of Franklinville; numerous great grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and close family friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 28, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church, 133 North Church Street, Asheboro. Burial will follow the service at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
