William Ellsworth Mason

William Ellsworth "Bill or Papa Bill" Mason, age 77, of Lake Placid, FL died Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at his son's home, in Randleman. Mr. Mason was born March 19, 1937 the son of Richard and Dorothea Maxine David Mason who preceded him in death. Bill was a native of Washington, IL, an Air Force Veteran and a retired construction electrician. He was a member of IBEW Local 34, Peoria, IL and a lifetime member of the NRA. Bill was a long time resident of Lake Vermilion, MN and more recently of Lake Placid, FL. He was a life member of the Masons, Taylor Lodge #98 in Washington, IL and enjoyed genealogy and restoring his 1965 Ford Mustang (Suntime Yellow). He was a longtime supporter of the Boy Scouts of America and enjoyed seeing his grandsons become a part of scouting. He is survived by his wife: Gail Bachmann Mason; son and his wife: John and Julie Mason of Randleman, NC; grandsons: Carter Ellsworth and Elliott Thomas Mason; brother and his wife: Dale and Carlienne Mason of Spokane, WA; nieces: Dalienne Knowles and Collienne and husband Mike Becker; nephew: David Mason and great nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 3:15-3:45 PM at First United Methodist Church, 301 S. Main St., Randleman, NC and the Memorial Service will follow at the church at 4:00 PM with Dr. Dana Bunn officiating.
