William Lloyd Moffitt

William Lloyd Moffitt, age 80, of 5374 High Pine Church Road, Asheboro died Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. Mr. Moffitt was born January 29, 1932 the son of Robert Early and Mattie Ada Moffitt. Mr. Moffitt was a native of Randolph County and a member of Hopewell Friends Meeting. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. Lloyd retired from Acme-McCrary Hosiery as the knitting superintendent after 42 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sarah "Brownie" Moffitt, son, William L. Moffitt, Jr. and his wife, Deborah of Asheboro, grandchildren, Jason Davis Moffitt and Lauren Ashley Moffitt both of Asheboro and sister, Judy Chisholm of Mt. Pleasant, SC. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Hopewell Friends Meeting, 2244 Hopewell Friends Road, Asheboro, NC with Rev. Daniel Thames officiating. Burial will follow at Callicutt Memorial Church Cemetery, Asheboro.
