William Fields "Bill" Reynolds, 92, of Troy departed this life to his eternal home on January 10, 2014 at the Randolph Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral will be held on Monday, January 13, 2014 at 2 pm at Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Church, officiated by Elder Johnny Ray Gardner. The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery with military rites provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 12, 2014 from 6-8 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home in Troy; other times at the home. William was the son of the late Charlie and Mae Morris Reynolds and was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years Elma King Reynolds and brothers, Joe Reynolds and Charles Reynolds. William was born in Troy and graduated from Troy High School. He was a very patriotic man, proudly serving his country in World War II in Europe as a fighter plane mechanic. He retired in 1986 from the City of Asheboro after 30 years of service. He enjoyed all sports, especially baseball and his Atlanta Braves, and was an avid Tarheel fan. He loved listening to Bluegrass gospel music. He is survived by sons: Larry Reynolds and wife, Betty of Asheboro, Billy Reynolds and wife, Donna of Troy; three daughters: Linda York and husband, Elvin of Ramseur, Sandra Collins and husband, David of Denton, Betty Harvel and husband, Terry of Troy; grandchildren: Kristen Reynolds Park and husband, Kevin, Kathryn Reynolds, Kyle Reynolds, Rachel Reynolds, Jeff York and wife, Julie, Jennifer York Trogdon, Janice Collins Lee and husband, Joseph, Pam Collins Loflin and husband, Lyle, Tanna Harvel Alderman and husband, Danny, Joshua Harvel; great-grandchildren: Elijah York, Josiah York, Jeremiah York, Hannah Trogdon, Samuel Trogdon, Grace Trogdon, Katelyn Loflin, Hunter Loflin, Lauren Alderman, Seth Alderman and Makinley Park; one brother,Jim Reynolds of Yanceyville and one sister, Cindy Roland of Roxboro.. He was a loving husband, father, brother and a very special grandfather to all his grandchildren. His wonderful wit, his Spiritual guidance and his loving ways will be cherished always. The family of Mr. Reynolds would like to thank Randolph Hospice House for the loving care given him during his illness. Pugh-Troy Funeral Home is serving the Reynolds Family.
