William Richard Farlow

William Richard "Rick" Farlow, age 69, of Sophia died Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Woodland Hill Care & Rehabilitation, Asheboro. Mr. Farlow was born January 24, 1948 the son of Richard and Delores Hinrichs Farlow. Rick was a native of Randolph County and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Department of Corrections with 35 years of service. Rick enjoyed playing cards, taking beach trips, and playing a good round of golf. Rick loved his family and his cat "Scooter II". In addition to his parents, Rick is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Randy Farlow. He is survived by his wife: Brenda Sumner Farlow of the home; sisters: Sharon Brooks of Boone, NC and Barbara Wilkerson (John) of Randleman; brother: David Farlow of Randleman; sister-in-law, Nancy Farlow of Sophia, and Diane Hoover (Harvey) of Thomasville; brother-in-law, Tommy Sumner of Asheboro; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved Cat, Scooter II. The family will receive friends Friday, February 24, 2017 from 12:30-1:30PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Bus. North, Asheboro with Rev. Joe Farlow officiating.
