Willard Elmo Gordon, age 80, of 643 Cypress Dr., Asheboro died Monday, November 7, 2011 at the Randolph Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Randolph Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Dr. Mark J. Key officiating. Entombment will follow in Randolph Memorial Park with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends following the service at the home of Brian and Patti Gordon, 685 Brown Trail, Asheboro.
Mr. Gordon was born in Browns Summit, NC on August 2, 1931 to Hugh and Annie Apple Gordon. Willard served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Burlington Industries and was a member of Central United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Suthard Gordon, brothers Odis, Clay, Worth, and Burnice, and his sister Billie Norman. Willard had lived in the same neighborhood for over 40 years where there was a close bond between the neighbors and they were very devoted to each other.
He is survived by his daughter, Teri Haddon and her husband Eric of Cary, NC; sons, Mark Gordon and his wife Lisa of Asheboro, NC, and Brian Gordon and his wife Patti of Asheboro, NC; granddaughters, Allie Haddon and Bailie Gordon; grandsons, Jackson Gordon, Wes Haddon, Ethan Haddon, and Tyler Haddon; step grandchildren, Leslie Stone and Reese Stone; and sister, Mozelle Brooks of Browns Summit, NC.
