Wilburn Levern Lewis

Mr. Wilburn L. Lewis, 87, passed away on October 2, 2011. As a decorated veteran, he serviced his country proudly during WWII as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. After the war he attended Wake Forest College. He persued his passion for golf after retiring from Martin Marietta Materials. Many rounds were played with his Greensboro friends. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Patricia Lewis; daughter, Jane McCann and her husband Kim; son, Will Lewis and his wife Leslie; brother, Eugene Lewis and his wife Elaine; grandchildren, Jessica Marchand and her husband Arturo, Brooke Booth and her husband John, Lauren McCann, Natalie McCann. A private graveside service will be held for the family. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff at Regional Cancer Center and Hospice for their support and care. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to charity of donor's choice. Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro is assisting the family.
