Wesley Orlindo Routh, age 81, of Climax died Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.
Mr. Routh was a native of Randolph County and served in the Army during the Korean War. Wesley was a hard working and very mechanical minded person. He could repair anything. He retired from Laughlin Hosiery Mill after 45 years of service. Wesley coached youth baseball teams and played some baseball and softball himself. He enjoyed bird hunting and had a great sense of humor. He could make anyone laugh and all will miss that quality. Wesley loved his farm and working the crops and gardens and also enjoyed caring for his farm animals. Mr. Routh is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Fannie Routh; sisters, Marie Routh and Lucille Ingold; brother, Benny Routh.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Jonnie Routh, of the home; sons: Mark Routh and his wife Lynn of Randleman, Tim Routh and his wife Sandy of Archdale, and Todd Routh and his wife Karen of Climax; grandchildren, Hunter, Beau, Nicole, Kelly, Jake, and Mattie Routh; sisters: Isabelle Hunt of Randleman, Hilda Underwood of Asheboro, Blanche Cox and her husband Billy of Asheboro and Ethel Alexander of Charlottesville, Va.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 1:45 pm Saturday, June 16, 2012 and other times at the home. The funeral will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 600 South Main Street, Randleman with Rev. Andy Garner officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro with the Randolph County Honor Guard.
