Wayne Michael Toomes

Wayne Michael Toomes, age 77, of Franklinville died Sunday, January 7, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Toomes was born October 10, 1940 the son of Edison and Dorothy Toomes. Wayne was a native of Randolph County and retired from the Randolph County School System. He was a loving father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family. Wayne was an avid fisherman and liked the challenge of tinkering on small engine repairs. In addition to his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by his wife Frances Delette Toomes.

He is survived by his son: Michael Toomes and wife Debbie of Franklinville; grandchildren:Mickaela Perez and husband Alex of Franklinville, and Hannah Toomes of Franklinville; sister: Nancy Toomes of Franklinville; brothers: Sidney Toomes and wife Laura of Climax and Randy York of Franklinville.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 12:30-1:45 PM at Bethany United Methodist Church, 3650 Bethany Church Road, Franklinville, NC. The funeral service follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Pat Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
