Wayne Morris Teague, age 69, of 254 Trotter Lane, Asheboro died Sunday, April 22, 2012 at his home.
Mr. Teague was born October 20, 1942 the son of Dossie and Macy Cheek Teague.
Wayne was a native of Coleridge, NC and a 1961 graduate of Coleridge High School. He opened his business on Dixie Drive in Asheboro in 1965 as the owner of Teague's Sunoco. His business grew to include Teague's Towing, Sunny Mart Sunoco and finally Teague's BP. His store was not only a place to purchase gas and other essentials, it was a place where many friends gathered to solve the world's problems and enjoy one another's company. In addition to his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by one brother: Thurman Teague.
He is survived by: daughter and her husband: Sharon Teague and Stevie "Rooster" Hughes of Asheboro; sister and her husband: Norma and Bruce Smith of Franklinville; brother and his wife: Norris and Faye Teague of Kure Beach; brother and his wife: Farrell and Jean Teague of Asheboro; sister-in-law: Katie Teague of Ramseur; and favorite four-legged friend: granddog, Mollie.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro and other times at his daughters' home, 2019 Sunny Lane, Asheboro. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro with Rev. Jeff Garner officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro.
