Wayne Lee King

ASHEBORO -Wayne Lee King, age 90, of Asheboro died Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. Mr. King was born September 28, 1922 the son of Peter Randolph "PR" King and Lora Boling King. Mr. King was a native of Seagrove, NC and member of Grace Baptist Temple Church. Wayne was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII and retired from First National Bank as a courier. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his wife: Merle Elizabeth Strider King, brothers: Lonnie King and his wife, Conie, Fred King and his wife, Louella and Ralph King; sister: Blanche Greene and her husband, Lonnie. He is survived by two sisters: Thelma K. Harrelson and her husband, Charlie and Zelma K. Baum all of Asheboro, sister in laws: Gretchen Hancock of Asheboro, Faydean Macon of Seagrove, Frances Strider of Asheboro and Bertie Strider of Seagrove, brother in laws: Leverette Strider and his wife, Brenda of Seagrove and Sherrill Strider and his wife, Dee of VT; Goddaughters: Merle Elizabeth Burrows Corbin and her husband, Walter of Hendersonville and Faith Ann Burrows Andrews and her husband, Walter of Walnut Cove, NC. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Rev. Mark Myers officiating.
