Wayne H. Hammond

Wayne H. Hammond, age 81, of 2921 Pisgah Church Rd., Asheboro died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Universal Health Care of Ramseur. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 31, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Pisgah United Methodist Church, 5594 Pisgah Covered Bridge Rd., Asheboro with Dr. Merle D. Correll and Rev. Bob Dowling officiating. Mr. Hammond was a native of Randolph County and a graduate of Seagrove High School and N. C. State University in Raleigh. He was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church and was retired from the United States Geological Survey in Reston, VA. He is survived by his wife, Blendon Slack Hammond; daughter, Elizabeth Hammond Ames and her husband Chris Ames of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Helen and Katherine Ames; brother, J. Harold Hammond of Asheboro.
