Carroll "Wayne" Cowan of Randleman, NC passed away peacefully after a long illness, on December 2, 2017.

Wayne was born October 19, 1948 in Mullens, WV to the late C.C. and Ruth Kathleen Cowan. Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 31 years, Linda S. Cowan. Three children, Dawn Lock and husband Jason, of Norfolk, VA, Crystal Hazelwood and husband Joey of Asheboro, NC, Brent Ridge and partner Josh Kilmer-Purcell of Sharon Springs, NY, three grandchildren, Lindsay and Zach Hazelwood of Asheboro, NC, and Sara Lock of Norfolk, VA.

Raised in Mullens, WV, he graduated from Augusta Military Academy and attended VA Tech in Blacksburg, VA. He achieved the prestigious status of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, an accomplishment that only 5% of all scouts attain. He used that diligence and commitment to excellence to pursue an accomplished career in Banking Finance, being a Mortgage Broker and owning and running his own mortgage company.

He loved the great outdoors, being an avid hunter. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Wayne will be buried in the South Plainfield Friends Meeting Cemetery. He will be greatly missed as a father, grandfather, husband and faithful friend. May he rest in peace with fair winds and following seas.

His funeral service will be at Pugh Funeral Home, located at 437 Sunset Ave, Asheboro, NC on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 7:00 pm. Visitation will be one (1) hour prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 2211 W. Meadowview Rd., Suite 30, Greensboro, NC 27407.
