Wayne Blanton

General Wayne Blanton, age 62, of 646 Hilltop Church Road, Asheboro died Friday, October 1, 2010 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Mr. Blanton was a native of Lois, SC and a graduate of Franklinville School. Wayne was a warehouse employee with Klaussner Furniture Industries Inc, an Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War as a medic. In addition to his parents, General Marshall Blanton and Flossie Mae Blanton, he is preceded in death by his brother; J.C. Blanton. He is survived by his brother: Ed Blanton and his wife, Ellen Cox Blanton of Asheboro; Sisters: Patricia Cole and her husband, Milton of Rocky Mount, NC, Lynda Curtis and her husband, Sherrill of Dallas, NC, and Sharon Richardson and her husband, Todd of Denton, NC; sister in law: Frances Blanton of Brooksville, FL and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 3, 2010 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 4, 2010 at Oaklawn Cemetery, 737 Albemarle Road, Asheboro with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Rev.
