Wayland Brewer Parker

Wayland Brewer Parker, age 94, of Asheboro died Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Brookdale Senior Living Solutions Of Asheboro.

Mr. Parker was born June 11, 1927 the son of George Clayton and Jennie Brewer Parker.

Wayland was a native of Randleman and spent his early life in the Robbins/Eagle Springs area. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII and was retired from Klopman/Burlington Mills. He was a skilled woodworker, making many birdhouses, could fix anything and was always available to help others. He was a member of the former Calvary United Methodist Church. Wayland is preceded in death by his: wife: Mary Pauline Williams Parker; son: Charles "Chuck" Parker and great-granddaughter: Lucy Faith Simpson.

He is survived by daughter: Rita Ann (Rich) Simpson of Stone Mountain, GA; granddaughter: Collins (Chris) Foster of Atlanta, GA; grandson, Dr. Richard (Jaime) Simpson V of Augusta, GA; grandson: John Parker Simpson of Stone Mountain, GA; great grandchildren: Emerson Foster, Avery and Tessa Simpson; and one brother: Robert "Bobby" Parker of Eagle Springs, NC

The Graveside Service will be Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 10:00 AM in Oaklawn Cemetery with Dr. Willis Herman officiating.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all the staff at Brookdale Senior Living for the wonderful care and concern given to Wayland over the last 9 years; especially Mary Cheek and Jamie DeFrench Jones.
