Waunetta Culver Hedrick

Waunetta Culver Hedrick, age 84, of 500 Mountain Top Dr., Asheboro died Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Clapps Convalescent Nursing Home. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Bus. North, Asheboro with Rev. Michael Holder officiating. Mrs. Hedrick was born in Muskegon, Michigan on May 29, 1927 to Ben and Hattie Portner Culver. She was a retired Legal Secretary and was of the Methodist faith. In addition to her parents, Waunetta was preceded in death by her husband Bruce L. Hedrick, and her sisters Loretta Snyder and Betty Jean Mullikin. Waunetta was a member of the Red Hat Society, and enjoyed fishing, dancing, Asheboro Copperheads baseball, Atlanta Braves baseball, and traveling. She is survived by her sons, Ben C. Hedrick of Matthews, NC, Bart L. Hedrick and his wife Kathy of Simpsonville, SC; grandchildren, Chelsey Hedrick of Simpsonville, SC, Ashley Hedrick of Simpsonville, SC, Hayley Hedrick of Matthews, NC, and Max Hedrick of Matthews, NC; and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the NC Zoological Society, 4403 Zoo Parkway, Asheboro, NC 27205. Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro is in charge of arrangements.
