Walter Malcolm "Mack" Strider

Walter Malcolm “Mack” Strider, age 90, of Asheboro passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Randolph Hospital.

Mr. Strider was born in Asheboro on April 29,1932 to Walter Lee and Crissie Luther Strider. Mack served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Central Falls Baptist Church where he served as Minister of music for 50 years. Mack sang with various gospel groups in the area for many years. In addition to his parents, Mack was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Thelma Luther Strider and eight siblings.

Mack is survived by several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 12:30-1:30 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Saturday at 2:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gerald Hussey officiating. Interment will be held in the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
