Walter Gilmer Mickey Jr.

Walter Gilmer Mickey, Jr., age 67, of 321 S. High St., Asheboro died Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at his home. Mr. Mickey was a native of Randolph County and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Elastic Therapy, Inc. and was a member of Fayetteville Street Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Glenda Caughron Mickey; two daughters: Teresa Sue Haga of Randleman, NC, Patricia Ann Perry of Asheboro, NC; one son: Terry Wayne Mickey of Burgaw, NC; 5 grandchildren; two sisters: Betty Cook and Edna Lee Hodges of Asheboro, NC; step mother, Alma Mickey of Texas; two half sisters: Linda Salter and Barbara Oldfield of Texas. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 14, 2002 from 7 - 9 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be Thursday, August 15, 2002 at 2:00 PM at Fayetteville Street Baptist Church, 901 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro with Rev. Adrian Pugh and Neal Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro with military honors.
