Walon Dudley Trogdon, age 92, of Asheboro died Friday, September 5, 2014 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Mr. Trogdon was born October 6, 1921 the son of Austin Cone and Lillie Autry Trogdon.
Mr. Trogdon was a native of Randolph County and was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII stationed in South America. Walon retired as an auto technician and was a member of Central United Methodist Church. He was an avid reader, an animal lover and a hard worker. In addition to his parents, Walon was preceded in death by his wife: Catherine Hamilton Trogdon; brother: Harlan Trogdon and sister: Neta Bezalla.
He is survived by one daughter: Susan T. Clark of Asheboro; son: Tim (Ann) Trogdon of Kure Beach; 5 grandchildren: Paul (Naomi) Trogdon of Kure Beach, Kim (Brian) Dalke and Kathy (Lee) Isom all of Asheboro, Allison (Tim) Couillard of Midlothian, VA, Robyn Clark of Charlotte; 8 great grandchildren: Dylan Brown, Colby Brown, Brice Dalke, Hayden Isom, Grayson Isom, Kaitlyn Isom all of Asheboro, Zoey Trogdon and MacKenzie Trogdon both of Kure Beach.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 8, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the Central United Methodist Church Chapel, 300 South Main Street, Asheboro with Dr. Terry L. Matthews officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
