Walden "Walt" Onslow Starling

Walden "Walt" Onslow Starling, age 74, of Randleman died Saturday, October 29, 2016 at his home. Mr. Starling was born June 21, 1942 in Monroe, NC the son of Preston Onslow and Edith Iris Keciah Starling. Mr. Starling was a native of Randolph County and attended Church of God in Franklinville. He was formerly employed with the maintenance department of First Baptist Church in Asheboro and retired from Hadley People in Siler City. Walt was a loving father, grandfather and brother. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Carol Malinda McCain Starling; daughter: Barbara Jean Morton; brother: David Starling and sister: Carolyn Harrington. Walt is survived by three daughters: Wanda Starling Allen and husband, Chris of Randleman, Janet Marie Webster and husband, John of Asheboro and Mindy Garrett of Liberty; two sons: Jerry Onslow Starling and wife, Temple of Asheboro, Mitchel Lynn Starling and wife, Regina of Pinebluff; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; four sisters: Nancy Parker of Roseboro, Joan (Greg) Nethercutt of Goldsboro, Sherry Hair of Clinton and Christy Dickerson of Wilmington; one brother: Jack Starling of Concord. The family will receive friends at Thursday, November 3, 2016 from 1:00 - 2:30 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro followed by a graveside service at 3:00 pm at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Bus. North, Asheboro with Pastor Arnold Comer officiating.
