Wadene Harris Stoker

Wadene Harris Stoker, 74, of Troy, died June 14, 2009, at Wilora Lake Health Care Center in Charlotte. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 20 at First Wesleyan Church at 2 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Mrs. Stoker was a native of Montgomery County, born to Robert Whitt Harris and Clara Lucille Harris Harris. She was a former school teacher and attended First Wesleyan Church. She was preceded in death by husband, George Stoker.Wadene's children considered her the best mother possible, a woman full of spunk who lived life to the fullest every day. She loved her George, her church and her family.The family wishes to say thank you to Julie Chandler, Lois McCaskill, Heather Johnston, Shelia Greene, Shondra Blocker, Dina Hunsucker, Regina Shook, and the staff at Wilora Lake, especially George and Portia. A special thanks to Loretta Dean who travels with them always.Survivors include daughter, Alicia S. and Doug Caldwell of Charlotte; son, Rick and Leeanna Stoker of Wilmington; special child, Tad and Claudette Russell; grandchildren, Jason Freeman, Harris, Kylie and Sophia Stoker and Meghan, Ian and Emma Russell.Memorials are to be made to Presbyterian Hospice of Charlotte, 324 N.
