Wade Brown, Sr.

Riley Wade Brown, Sr., age 89, of 450 Mountain Top Dr., Apt. 105, Asheboro died Friday, April 23, 2010 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Mr. Brown was born April 26, 1920 the son of William Riley and Dorothy Brown Brown. Mr. Brown was a native of Randolph County and a member of Union Grove Christian Church where he served as Deacon, Sunday School Superintendant, teacher, church secretary and treasurer. He was the former President of Asheboro Tie Yards, Inc., enjoyed gardening and farming. He was a loving and giving father, grandfather and great grandfather and he enjoyed the friendship of many. Mr. Brown is preceded in death by his wife: Mabel Bunting Brown. He is survived by: son and his wife: Wade, Jr. and Wanda Brown of Asheboro, NC; son and his wife: Gary and Becky Brown of Spartanburg, SC; daughter and her husband: Alesia and Randy Lawson of Asheboro, NC; granddaughter and her husband: Donna and Eric Hill; grandson: Gary Lynn Brown, Jr.; granddaughter and her husband: Leah and Shaun Plount; granddaughter and her husband: Nena and Ray Conner; granddaughter and her husband: Jenna and Ronnie Petty; granddaughter: Valerie Lawson; great-grandchildren: Ryan and Ross Hill, Madeline Plount and Finley Conner; and one sister: Sarah B. McCain of Kernersville, NC. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 25, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of his daughter: Alesia Lawson, 3303 Grantville Lane, Asheboro. The funeral will be Monday, April 26, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Union Grove Christian Church, 3985 Old NC Hwy 13, Asheboro with Rev. Garry L. Reeder and Rev. Adrian Pugh officiating.
