William Howard "Fuzzy" Yow, age 92, of 5857 Poppy Seed Dr., Belews Creek died Thursday, October 13, 2011 at his home.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 16, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Honeycutt, Rev. Abraham Kim and Rev. Larry Neal officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.
Mr. Yow was a native of Chatham County, was a member of Worthville United Methodist Church in Randleman and retired from Burlington Industries in Ramseur. He had a love for sports and played baseball in the Deep River Mill league. He umpired men's and women's softball, was a Little League Baseball coach, was active with the Randleman High School Boosters Club and was an avid Duke fan. After retirement, Mr. Yow built and repaired clocks. He was a former Scout Master of Troop #509 and was active in the Civitan Club. Mr. Yow was preceded in death by his wife, Mary York Yow and son, John Howard Yow.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Rinehart and her husband Robert of Belews Creek; sons, Charles A. Yow, Sr. and his wife Linda of Orange Park, FL, Kenneth W. Yow and his wife Mary of Hillsborough; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchild; 2 great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro and other times at the home of Heather and Jessie Joyce, 214 Sawyersville Rd., Asheboro.
The family would like to give special thanks to their family friend and loving caregiver, Audrey Madison and to Advanced Home Healthcare of High Point for the care given Mr. Yow.
