W. Edward Joyce

Walter Edward "Chico" Joyce, age 83, formerly of Powhatan Ave., Asheboro, died Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Woodland Hill Care & Rehabilitation in Asheboro. Mr. Joyce was born August 22, 1928 in Mt Airy, NC, the son of Elmer and Lonnie Bingman Joyce. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and formerly attended Grace United Methodist and New Union United Methodist Churches. He was retired from Arrow International. He is survived by his wife: Mae Cooper Joyce, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 5, 2011 prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will follow at 2:00 P.M. in Pugh Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in New Union United Methodist Church Cemetery.
