Virginia Hussey Rumley

Virginia "Janie" Hussey Rumley, age 90, of Asheboro went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 6, 2017 after a brief stay at Randolph Hospice House. Ms. Rumley was born in Moore County on August 26, 1926 to Bert and Bertie Allred Hussey. She was retired from Kayser-Roth and a member of Sunset Avenue Church of God. In addition to her parents, Ms. Rumley was preceded in death by sisters, Ima Beck and Ruby Hussey; and son-in-law, Harry L. Markwood. She is survived by her daughter, Patsy Markwood of Asheboro; son, Don Hill and wife Vicki of Pine Bluff; grandchildren, Rodney Miller and wife Stacey of Asheboro; Scarlett Berg and husband Gary of Greensboro; Darrell Hill and wife Tabitha of Jacksonville, FL; Douglas Hill and wife Tammy of Myrtle Beach, SC; Angela Hill of St. Petersburg, FL; 9 great grandchildren; and brother Paul Hussey and wife Thelma of Biscoe. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 11:30-12:30 p.m. at Sunset Avenue Church of God, 900 Sunset Ave, Asheboro. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at Sunset Avenue Church of God with Dr. Boyd Byerly officiating. Burial will be in the Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery, 203 Smyrna Church Rd, Robbins.
