Virginia “Miss Virginia” Parnell Green Robinson, age 86, formerly of W. Spring St., Troy, died Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Miss Virginia was born August 31, 1929 in Stanly County, in the town of Norwood, to Eli J. and Rebecca Morris Parnell.
She was retired office manager for Montgomery Memorial Hospital and also a nurse’s aide. She was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary and Montgomery County Line Dancers.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by daughter, Brenda Sue Green; husbands, Troy Police Chief Mont Green and A.J. Robinson, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Betty H. Green..
She is survived by one son: Gilbert Lee Green of Troy; one granddaughter: Shannon and Jerry McNeill of Biscoe; one great-grandson: Gered McNeill of Biscoe; one great-granddaughter: Mandy and J.C. Georgepul of Troy; three great-great-grandsons: Gavin Georgepul, Bryson Lee Georgepul and Brendon Georgepul; one niece, Linda Gayle Hicks of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 N Main St. Troy; other times at 201 W. Spring St., Troy. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 pm at Southside Cemetery, S. Main St., Troy with Tony Sedberry officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to the Randolph Hospice House, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27203.
