Virginia Jeanette Jackson Nobles, age 88, formerly of Chatham, VA, died Friday, September 2, 2016 at Carillon Assisted Living of Asheboro.
Mrs. Nobles was born July 1, 1928 in Lenoir County, NC the daughter of David Clarence and Mary Hart Jackson.
Jenny was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a superb homemaker. Her early days were spent on a farm in eastern North Carolina where she learned the value of hard work. She passed that value to her sons and grandchildren and even late in life, she could out-work most. After her marriage, she moved to Virginia Beach, VA and there she and James raised their boys. They then retired to Chatham, VA and established a wonderful life there. Jenny was preceded in death, in 2011 by her husband of 63 years, James Clifton Nobles.
She is survived by two sons and their wives: Jim and Beverly Nobles of Clinton, TN; Jeff and Tami Nobles of Asheboro, NC; granddaughter and her husband: Carleen and Zane McHugh of Knoxville, TN; granddaughter: Caroline Nobles of Asheboro, NC; grandson and his wife: Caleb and Taylor Nobles of Knoxville, TN; grandson: Currey Nobles of Asheboro, NC; great-grandchildren: Addison and Jackson McHugh; brother and his wife: Bill and Jodi Jackson of Greenville, NC; and sister-in-law: Ola Jackson of Moncks Corner, SC.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 4, 2016 from 3:00-3:45 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in New Hope Memorial Gardens, Asheboro.
