Virginia M. Highfill

Virginia Miller Moon Highfill, age 94, formerly of 3097 Cedar Falls Road, Asheboro died Monday, July 4, 2011 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Mrs. Highfill was born September 12, 1916 the daughter of Henry F. and Della Leonard Miller. Mrs. Highfill was a native of Lexington, NC and was a charter member of the First E & R United Church of Christ of Asheboro. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her husbands: Henry R. Moon and Drury G. Highfill; and sons: Henry, Jr. and Tony Moon. She is survived by: daughter and her husband: Pam and Buddy Redding of Asheboro, NC; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren; step daughter: Mary Miller of Grand Rapids, MI; stepson: Tom Highfill of MI; stepson: Glenn Highfill of TX. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 6, 2011 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will follow in the Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dale Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro. Memorials may be made to First E & R United Church of Christ, 221 Cliff Road, Asheboro, NC 27203
