Virginia Allene Burgess

Virginia Allene Burgess, age 85, of 220 Lexington Place, Asheboro died Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Mrs. Burgess was born March 14, 1923 in Randolph County, NC the daughter of William E. "Will" Hicks and Dora Fogleman Hicks. She attended Staley High School, earned her cosmetology license from Troutman Beauty College and was certified in electrolysis at the Kree Institute in New York City. She attended Asheboro Friends Meeting after moving to Asheboro from Ramsuer. Mrs. Burgess had previously attended Moon's Chapel Baptist Church in Siler City. She is survived by son: Larry B. and Wife Helen Marley of Asheboro; sister: Janie H. and husband Davis Jr. Salmon of Pinehurst, NC; step-son: William J. "Bill" and wife Wanda Burgess of Kingsport, Tn; step-grandchildren: Martha Diehl and Bill Parham. The family will receive friends Monday, May 19, 2008 from 6:00-7:30 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC other times at the home. The funeral will be Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 4:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Revrands Ken & Pat Thames officiating.
