Virgie Underwood Craven, age 93, of 400 Vision Drive, Asheboro died Friday, January 30, 2009 at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation of Asheboro, Asheboro.Mrs. Craven was born January 25, 1916 in Randolph County and worked as a housekeeper at the Sir Robert Motel for many years. She enjoyed needlework and puzzles. She is preceded in death by her husband: Otis Craven and her son: John "Jake" Craven and her daughter: Cleo Craven Brothers. She is survived by daughter-in-law, Annie Craven of Sophia, NC; granddaughter, Diane Rush of Sophia, NC; grandson, Jackie "Peanut" Craven of Sophia, NC; great grandson, Jonathan Rush of Asheboro, NC; nephew and his wife, Reece And Doti Coble of Greensboro, NC; Nephew, Johnny Underwood; niece, Hattie Underwood.The family will receive friends Sunday, February 1, 2009 from 2:00-3:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral will be Sunday, February 1, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, Randleman with Rev. Wade Craven officiating. Burial will follow in Grays Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Franklinville.The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff of SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation for their kindness and wonderful care given to Virgie over the years.
