Violet Crowley Hunsucker, age 86, of Asheboro passed on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at her home.
Mrs. Hunsucker was born May 6, 1931 in Fayetteville to Kermin and Alta Mae Crowley. She had a big heart and a strong faith in God and was a member of Hopewell Friends Meeting. Mrs. Hunsucker volunteered in local rest homes through Sunset Avenue Church of God. She was a former co-owner of Big Dipper Restaurant. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hunsucker was preceded in death by her brother, Ervin Crowley.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Lee R Hunsucker; daughters, Joyce Luther and husband Sammy of Asheboro, Betty Callicutt and husband Roger of Asheboro; son, Jim Hunsucker and wife Karen of Asheboro; grandchildren, Jamie Hogan and husband Shawn, Laura Williams and husband Nevada, Kenneth Callicutt and wife Carrie, Lisa Flowers and husband Steven, Harvey Callicutt and wife Lori, Amanda Hinshaw and husband Joseph, Matthew Hunsucker and wife Vanessa, Sabrina Smith; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sisters, Frances Mussellwhite of Hartsville, SC, Bernice Gainey of Jefferson, SC, Katherine Steen of Hartsville, SC; brother, and Kermin Douglas "K.D." Crowley of Mullins, SC.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ricky Sessoms officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Friends Meeting Cemetery.
