Vina Lee Clapp Kearns

Vina Lee Clapp Kearns, age 81, formerly of Asheboro, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at The Shannon Gray Rehabilitation and Recovery Center in Jamestown. Mrs. Kearns was born in Asheboro on July 1, 1938 to William Clapp and Ivy P. Williamson. She was retired from Klopman Mills/Galey & Lord after 30 years of service. Vina was a member of Neighbor's Grove Wesleyan Church. In addition to her parents, Vina was preceded in death by her husband, Raeford Eugene Kearns, son, Raeford Kearns, Jr., and grandson, Tony Ray York, Jr. Vina loved to cook everyone's favorite dishes and enjoyed collecting bells and buttons. She had a real green thumb and loved working in her flowers. She is survived by her sons, Donald Kearns (Patty) of Archdale and William Kearns of Rochester, NY; daughter, Radeanna Kearns of Asheboro; grandchildren, Donald Kearns, Jr. (Julie), LeeAnn Bailey, John Kearns (Amanda), Raeford Jerome Hogan (Ellery), Lindsay Griffin (Chris) , and Forrest Kearns (Stephanie); 4 great grandchildren and 1 on the way; brother, William Clapp (Carol) of Roanoke, VA; and sister, Colleen Durham (Steve Coltrane) of Trinity. A private graveside service will be held. Memorials may be made to the Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America NE Chapter, 8201 Corporate Drive, Suite 1000, Landover, MD 20785. Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro is serving the Kearns family.
