Vietta Holland Greene

Vietta Holland Greene, age 94, of Asheboro died Monday, January 14, 2013 at Greenhaven Health & Rehabilitation Center, Greensboro. Mrs. Greene was born May 6, 1918 in Star, NC the daughter of William Gilchrist and Emma Holland. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 18, 2013 from 2:00-3:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro, NC. No formal service is planned. Mrs. Greene spent most of her life in Baltimore, MD, retiring to Asheboro in 1986. She formerly attended the Asheboro Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: her husband: James Colon Greene; sons: Roy Lee and James Caldwell Greene; sisters: Lucille Covington, Eva Dunn, Bernice Dyer; and brother: Floyd Greene. She is survived by: granddaughters: Deborah Taylor and husband Marimi of Greensboro, NC; Tracey Greene of Moreno Valley, CA; grandson: Sterling Greene and wife Danielle of Moreno Valley, CA; God-daughter: Angela Moss of Edgewood, MD; honorary grandchildren: Raleigh and Ryan Moss; Jamal Covington; daughter-in-law: Maxine Greene; and 6 great grandchildren.
