Victoria Hicks Cagle

Victoria Hicks Cagle, 95, of Asheboro, died Dec. 23, 2009. She was born Feb. 23, 1914 in El Dorado to the late James and Nudie Mae Hicks. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Carolyn Cagle Stein and son-in-law Neil L. Stein; her brothers, Carl Hicks, Charles Hicks, and James Hicks; and her sisters Zula Hicks, Ada Hoover, Mittie Hicks, and Maggie Hicks. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, John F. Cagle of Asheboro; grandchildren, John C. Stein and his wife, Renay of Reidsville, Thomas C. Stein and his wife, Karen of St. Charles, MO, and Catherine Stein Schwartz and her husband David of Greenville, NC.; great grandchildren, Caleb Stein, Joshua Stein, and Hannah Weigle of Reidsville, and Emily Stein and Nathan Stein of St. Charles, MO. Mrs. Cagle attended High Point University. She lived in many parts of the world with her husband Chaplain Col. John Cagle and was active in Women of the Chapel and United Methodist Women. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Asheboro. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009 at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church in Asheboro with Rev. Michael Holder and Rev. John Stein officiating. Visitation will be held directly before the service beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery following the service. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Asheboro or to the Neil and Carolyn Cagle Stein Scholarship Fund at High Point University.
