Vernon Maxton Gordon

Vernon Maxton Gordon, age 70, of 520 Old Liberty Rd., Asheboro died Monday, November 19, 2007 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Mr. Gordon was a native of Randolph County, had been employed with Caraustar for the past 25 years, and attended Balfour Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Minton Gordon; daughter, Debbie Smallwood of Lexington, NC; 2 grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Gordon Hinson of Randleman, NC, Frances Gordon McNeill of Sophia, NC; brothers, Edsel Wade Gordon of Asheboro, NC, and Donald Lee Gordon of Asheboro, NC. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 20, 2007 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at his home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Steve Chipps officiating.
