Vernon Raymond Boling, age 91, of Cary, died Friday, October 23, 2015 at his home.
Mr. Boling was born May 22, 1924 the son of Guy and Agnes Nixon Boling. Vernon was a native of Randolph County and retired from Western Electric in Greensboro. He was a member of First Methodist Church in Randleman where he loved to sing in the choir. When he moved to Cary he attended the First United Methodist Church there. His strong faith and wonderful voice were known to all he encountered. In addition to his parents, Vernon is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy "Dot" Neece Boling.
He is survived by his children: Vernon Raymond "Ray" Boling, Jr. and his wife Karen of Raleigh, Barbara Wilson and her husband Barry of Cornelius, NC, and Ronald "Ron" Boling and his wife Cindy of Cary; grandchildren: Daniel Boling, Joy Moffett, Whitney Wilson, Hunter Wilson, Rachel Boling, and Noell Boling; great grandchildren, Daniel and Lucy Moffett and Ellie Boling.
The family will receive friends Thursday, October 29, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. A memorial graveside service will be held Friday, October 30, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Bus. North, Asheboro with Rev. William Green officiating.
