Verla Maude Hastings

Verla Maude Williams Hastings, age 92, formerly of Sophia went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 10, 2017.

Mrs. Hastings was born May 18, 1925 the daughter of Stephen and Lela Williams.Verla was a native of Guilford County and a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church in Randleman. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Verla's kindness and caring towards everyone she met was appreciated by all. In addition to her parents, Verla is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Hastings, Sr., brother, James Williams, and grandson, Robert Allred, Jr.

She is survived by her daughters: Patricia Allred (Robert) of Zirconia, and Glenda Greeson (Sam) of Charlotte; sons: Alfred Hastings, Jr. of Sophia, and Stephen Hastings of High Point; grandchildren: Julie Osteen (Montraville) and Christopher Allred (Ellen); great granddaughters: Hayden Allred, Holden Farabaugh and Stella Osteen; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, October 13, 2017 from 1:30-2:30 at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the chapel, with Rev. Bob Allred officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
