Verda Ann Hughes

Verda Ann Powell Hughes, age 66, of Randleman died Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. Mrs. Hughes was born August 10, 1948 the daughter of Tommie and Annie Mae Swaney Powell. Verda was a native of Randolph County and a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Hughes; brother, Dempsey Powell; and sister, Barbara Powell. She is survived by her sons: Brian Hughes and his wife Annie of Randleman and Anthony Hughes and his wife Sonya of Randleman; grandchildren: Garren and Karley Hughes. brothers: Alvin Powell and his wife Ruth of Asheboro, and Tiffany Powell of Asheboro. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 6 – 8 pm at her home. The family would like to extend a special thanks to caregiver, Robin Jennings for her care and concern.
