Vera Lewellyn Wilson

Vera Lewellyn Wilson, age 89, died Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Mt. Vista Health Park in Denton, NC.

Vera was born in Rockingham County, NC on January 6, 1933, to Roy and Nannie Purgason Lewellyn. She worked for nearly 25 years as an inspector for Walker Shoes of Asheboro, had been a member of Fayetteville Street Baptist Church and Grace Fellowship more recently.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: William Herbert Wilson and sons: Douglas and Roger Wilson.

Vera is survived by her daughter: Kathy Hornady (Terry) of Trinity, NC; son: Bill Wilson of Sarasota, FL; 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 18, 2022, from 6-8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home 437 Sunset Ave. Asheboro, NC.  The funeral will be in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 2:00 PM with Mike Thompson officiating.  Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.
