Vera Beane Holland

Vera Beane Holland, age 95, formerly of East Salisbury St., Asheboro died Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Cross Road Retirement Community, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the First E&R United Church of Christ, 221 Cliff Road, Asheboro with Rev. Dale Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Mrs. Holland was a native of Asheboro and was retired from Pinehurst Textile Company. She was a member of the First E&R United Church of Christ, where she was a former member of the Chancel Choir, the Golden Notes Choir, the Mary Martha Bible Class and the church circle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Worth Holland. Vera will be remembered for her love of her church, her family, and many friends. She is survived by her son, Wade Dennis Holland and his wife Ann of Raleigh, NC; 14 nieces and 7 nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 16, 2008 from 12:30-1:30 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
