Vera Rush Davis

Vera Rush Davis, age 85, formerly of Hawthorne Dr., Asheboro died Monday, March 14, 2011 at Clapps Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Oakhurst Baptist Church with Dr. Richard Crider officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park. Mrs. Davis was born in Candor, NC and was formerly employed with Pinehurst Textiles and Rose Garment in Asheboro. She was a faithful member of Oakhurst Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Davis. Mrs. Davis was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her son, Phillip L. Davis and his wife Eva; daughter, Judy Davis Brooks and her husband Dean; grandchildren, Alan Brooks and his wife Heather, Jonathan Brooks, Jennifer Brooks Riley and her husband Jimmy, and Amy Brooks; great grandchildren, AJ, Bradley, and Olivia Brooks; and sister, Sarah Williams. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM at Oakhurst Baptist Church, 2225 S. Fayetteville St., Asheboro, NC.
