Vauda Lee Spivey

Vauda Lee Hamilton Spivey, age 83, of Asheboro died Monday, January 19, 2015 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Buddy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park. Mrs. Spivey was born in Asheboro on December 14, 1931 to Homer and Myrtle Ingold Hamilton. Vauda was a wonderful mom and grandmother. She enjoyed visiting various denominational churches throughout the community. In addition to her parents, Vauda was preceded in death by her grandson Scott Carter, and brothers Elvin Hamilton and Johnnie Pierce. She is survived by her husband, Glenn Spivey; children, Betsy Lee Pack and husband Curtis of Brandenburg, KY, Reece Pierce of Asheboro, Carolyn Pierce of Franklinville, Linda Turner and husband Keith of Shallow Water, TX, Gene Pierce and wife Tona of Asheboro, David Pierce of the home, Tammie Young and husband Lance of Clayton, Julie Brigman of Asheboro, Alfred Spivey of Asheboro, Deborah Jane Carter of Asheboro; 25 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; and sister, Ruth Hill of Virginia. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 23, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Memorials may be made to a Hospice of the donor's choice.
