Vance Kersey

Vance "Butch" Kersey, Jr., age 63, of 1662 Giles Chapel Rd., Asheboro died Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Giles Chapel United Methodist Church, 1627 Giles Chapel Rd., Asheboro with Rev. Ronald Van Lente officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Kersey was a native of Fayetteville, NC, was a graduate of Massey Hill High School, and attended Giles Chapel United Methodist Church. Butch was a retired Personnel Manager with Guilford Mills, and formerly worked in the Yanceyville, Kenansville, and Lumberton plants. He was formerly employed with Rohm-Haas in Fayetteville. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Snider Kersey, daughter, Ashley Kersey of Asheboro, NC; sons, Justin Kersey of the home, Ronnie Kersey of Fayetteville, NC; grandson, Christopher Spivey; sisters, Cara Acus of Fayetteville, NC, Linda Hoffman of Tacoma, WA; brother-in-law, Todd Snider and his wife Amy of Asheboro, NC; and niece, Kelsey Snider. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 11, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of Todd and Amy Snider, 1671 Giles Chapel Rd., Asheboro.
