Vance Lee Campbell, age 75, of 529 Worthville St. Apt. 15 A, Randleman died Friday, June 27, 2008 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Mr. Campbell was born July 11, 1932 the son of Hubert and Clara Leonard Garner.
Mr. Campbell was a native of Guilford County and of Baptist Faith. He was formerly employed with Burlington Industries and Hatteras Yachts both of High Point, Reids Trailers in Pleasant Garden and Campbell Landscaping. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary "Lucille" Campbell, brothers, Edgar, Cliff and Jimmy Campbell. A special Thanks goes to Dr. Haque and the staff, care giver Shelia Griffin, Hospice of Randolph County, and Randolph Hospital. The family would like to thank them for taking great care of our dad.
He is survived by six daughters: Karen and her husband, Tommy Andrews of Staley, NC; Phyllis & her husband, Don Lucas of Asheboro, NC; Tammy Campbell and her partner, Doc Simon of White River Junction, VT.; Bonita Campbell and her partner, Johnny Pinnix of King, NC; Cathy Brown of Trinity, NC and Linda Jackson of Jacksonville, FL; two sons; Mike and his wife, Cathy Campbell of Ramseur, NC and Ricky and his wife, Cynthia Kirkman of High Point, NC; 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; sisters: Virginia Young of Level Cross, NC and Joyce Diane Prevette of Red Cross, NC; brother: Billy Joe Campbell of Denton, NC.
The family will receive friends Sunday, June 29, 2008 from 6:30-9:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC and other times at his home. The funeral will be Monday, June 30, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Bailey's Grove Baptist Church, 105 E. Beasley St., Asheboro with Rev. Jonathan Shook officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
