Valastra Allred Hackett, age 72, of Randleman died Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Mrs. Hackett was born November 17, 1940 in Randolph County to Orlando and Essie Allred. She was a 1959 graduate of Randleman High School and a member of Balfour Baptist Church. Mrs. Hackett was formerly employed in the hosiery industry and was also former co/owner of Robin Hood Restaurant and Caraway Speedway.
She is survived by her husband, Russell Hackett; daughter, Dee Dee Kern and husband David of Asheboro; son, Darren Hackett and wife Renee of Asheboro; grandchildren, Justin Smith of Climax, Preston Hackett and Victoria Hackett both of Asheboro; sisters, Juila Montgomery of Greensboro, Irene Parrish and husband David of Randleman; brother, James Ray Allred of Sophia; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Purdy and Rev. Ronnie Jessup officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.
