V.M. Aldridge

Virgil Mastin "V.M." Aldridge, Jr., age 83, of 3192 Happy Hollow Rd., Asheboro died Monday, July 28, 2008 at Select Specialty Hospital, Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Flag Springs United Methodist Church, 5852 Zoo Parkway, Asheboro with Rev. Billy Jarrett officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Mr. Aldridge was a lifelong resident of Randolph County and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was retired from the textile industry and was a member of Flag Springs United Methodist Church. V.M. was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil M. and Florence Julian Aldridge, his sister, Athalie Kersey, and his brother, Clyde Aldridge. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Luck Aldridge; sons, Gary L. Aldridge and his wife Melissa of Hamburg, Germany; Alan K. Aldridge and his wife Teresa of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Zachary Aldridge of Winston-Salem, NC; Meridith Aldridge of Charleston, SC; Daniel Aldridge of Little Rock, AR; Samuel Aldridge of Hamburg, Germany; great grandson, Ethan Aldridge of Winston-Salem, NC; 3 step grandchildren and 1 step great grandchild. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
